150th anniversary of the National Song Vande Mataram

India is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the national song “Vande Mataram”
The “Vande Mataram” song was written by Shri Bankim Chandra Chatterjee
He composed it in Sanskrit in 1875 and later included it in his 1882 novel, Anandamath
The song became a major source of inspiration during the Indian freedom struggle
It was adopted as the National Song of India in 1950
Which began on November 7, 2025, with a year-long celebration that will run until November 7, 2026.
The commemoration was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to honor the song’s history and its role as a rallying cry during the Indian independence movement.
On this occasion in classrooms Vande Mataram recited with great honor and respect
